Next, you will need to go to your account menu. Just click the hamburger icon on your Facebook app. It’s usually located on the bottom-right corner of your app interface. Once you open the main menu, it will display several options such as Friends, Groups, Marketplace, Watch, Dating, Memories, etc. Select “Avatars,” which is located right next to “Friends.” Once selected, it will automatically open your Facebook Avatar interface. If you already have an existing avatar, simply click the “Edit” button at the top-right portion. It’s the button that looks like a pencil. Now, you are all set to change or update your avatar! You can change it according to how you want it to look. You can update its hair, skin tone, makeup, eye color, nose, etc. You can also update your avatar’s clothes. Facebook regularly adds new clothes so your avatar won’t go out of style! Just be careful not to accidentally kill or close the app, or else the changes you made in your avatar will not be saved. You will have to start all over again. Once you are done changing your avatar, just click “Done.” You can also use the mirror feature to compare the avatar to your actual appearance. After saving the changes you made to your avatar, the update will be universal. This means the changes will be applied across all Facebook platforms, including Messenger.
